Identity Design: Logos

“Recognition is what every company or organization wants.”- Goodman

graphic identity is a symbolic identity of a company. Graphic designers utilize the “ideal” as the ultimate identity tool in order to appeal to consumers.

  1. Distill- This means considering many icons that could portray the client and distilling the list down to the best options
  2. Translate- Transforming various elements into ideal representations
  3. Formalize visual consistency- All of the elements of the design must be visually compatible with one and other
  4. Simplify- The final image must be simple and appropriate

Some strategies to do this include building upon an existing design and using calligraphic elements in the logo. It is important to remember that a graphic identity is turned to an identity system through the application of the logos or logotype.
